Buy Instagram impressions? Instagram doesn't count them any more.
The honest answer · checked 29 October 2026
Instagram stopped reporting impressions in late 2024. Meta's announcement says that "for Stories, photo or text posts, Views will replace Impressions", counting repeat views too, so the number sellers still advertise is one Instagram itself retired. What they deliver is accounts opening your post on an order, which adds to views and reach in your own Insights and to nothing anyone else can see. Meta's Community Standards, which have covered Instagram since November 2024, ban buying, selling or exchanging engagement such as likes, shares, views and follows. We run an organic growth service, so read us with that interest in mind; every claim below links to its source.

The metric
Impressions became views
On 14 November 2024 Meta announced Views as a single distribution metric "calculated the same way across Facebook and Instagram", in line with Instagram's own updated Insights. Its words: "For Stories, photo or text posts, Views will replace Impressions." Views count every time a post appears on someone's screen, including repeat views, so a person looking at a photo three times counts as three views where they used to count as one impression. On reels and videos, plays were renamed views.
Instagram's post insights now list views, reach, interactions and profile activity, and no impressions. Reach did not change: it is still the number of unique accounts that saw your content. Our glossary entry on reach and impressions explains how the two relate, and what the change to views means when you compare old and new numbers.
The product
What a bought impression actually is
Sellers of impressions, reach and profile visits deliver them the same way they deliver followers: automated accounts and exchange networks that open a post, a story or a profile because an order told them to. Nobody chose to look. They do not like, comment, save, share or follow, and the purchase leaves no trace on the post anyone else sees.
Either way, the views figure in your Insights rises while the share of viewers who did anything at all falls, which makes your own numbers harder to learn from.
The visibility
Who can see the number
Views, reach and profile visits on a photo post live in Insights, which only the account owner sees. So bought impressions do not make your post look more popular to your audience. Their only audience is you, and anyone you show a screenshot to.
That is where it stops being harmless. A brand paying for reach is paying for real people, and Insights screenshots are read alongside likes, comments and saves. A post with a big reach figure and the engagement of a much smaller one tells the brand what happened. The growth checker shows how your public engagement compares with accounts your size.
The cause
Why reach really drops
Most people shopping for impressions have watched reach fall. The usual causes are fixable: posts that are not built to be sent or saved, a wall of followers who never engage (often from bought followers or giveaways), and long gaps between posts. Our guide to why Instagram reach is low goes through them in order.
Bought engagement makes that worse, not better. Meta's Community Standards, which have covered Instagram since November 2024, ban buying, selling or exchanging engagement such as likes, shares, views and follows. Followers who never interact teach Instagram that your posts are not for the people they are shown to, and that is the signal that decides how far each post travels.
The alternative
What raises views and reach for real
Views and reach come from two things: posts people want to send and save, and an audience that cares about your subject. Instagram's head, Adam Mosseri, named watch time, likes and sends as the three most important signals in January 2025.
The audience half is what Virallized does: real, niche-targeted followers arriving month after month (the published ranges are on the pricing page), with Virallized AI included for the posts and a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment. In a 200-account sample of client campaigns that had run at least 90 days, measured to 23 October 2026, the median account added 407 net followers a month and all 200 finished larger than they started.
The sellers' own public record
Checked August 2026. We don't quote hand-picked reviews — only each profile's public numbers and Trustpilot's own wording, with links to verify both.
The dedicated follower shops we track:
- Insfamous — 4.3★ from 97 reviews
- MegaFamous — 3.5★ from 213 reviews
- BuzzVoice — 4.3★ from 128 reviews
- SidesMedia — profile removed by Trustpilot
- UseViral — profile removed by Trustpilot
And it reaches well past the coin-pack shops. In August 2026 Trustpilot suspended the ratings of three of the biggest names in the wider Instagram growth market — each profile now shows: "This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines" alongside the notice: "We've removed a number of fake reviews for this company."
- Path Social — no current rating; 83% of the 1308 reviews still visible are 1-star
- Plixi — no current rating; 94% of the 354 reviews still visible are 1-star
- UpGrow — no current rating; 45% of the 3298 reviews still visible are 1-star
One of the three, UpGrow, now sells follower packages outright — its own sales page is headed "Buy Instagram Followers with Instant Delivery" (August 2026) — while its rating sits suspended. That is the market this page is about, in its own words.
Ours, beside theirs, same measure: Virallized — 4.8★ from 92 reviews, 2% 1-star. We have never sold a follower; every number above lives on a platform none of us can edit. See the full market, ranked.
Common questions
Does Instagram still show impressions?
No. Meta announced in November 2024 that for Stories, photo and text posts, Views replace Impressions. Views count repeat views too, so they read higher than the old impressions did. Reach, the unique accounts that saw a post, is unchanged.
Can you buy Instagram impressions or reach?
Sellers offer them. What arrives is accounts opening your post on an order, which raises views and reach in your own Insights and nothing anyone else can see. Meta's Community Standards ban buying engagement, and the accounts never like, save, share or follow.
Can other people see my Instagram impressions?
No. Views, reach and profile visits on a photo post sit in Insights, which only the account owner sees. Bought impressions are only visible to you and to anyone you show a screenshot.
Is it OK to show bought reach to a brand?
No. A sponsor paying for reach is paying for real people, and reach that does not match the post's likes, comments and saves gives the purchase away. Presenting it as real reach misrepresents your audience.
How do I increase my Instagram views and reach for real?
Make posts people want to send and save, post on a steady rhythm, and grow followers who care about your subject. Instagram names watch time, likes and sends as its top signals; bought views add none of them.
