Free Instagram account audit

Enter any public handle and get a graded report card in seconds: engagement health, audience quality, posting rhythm and format mix, each measured from the account's real recent posts and benchmarked against accounts the same size — then an action plan ordered by what's costing the most growth.

Every grade is computed live from public data at the moment you run it. Where the public numbers can't support a grade, the card says so instead of inventing one — the same honesty rule behind our fake follower checker.

Four graded dimensions, computed from the account's real posts, benchmarked to its size band — then the fixes, worst-first.

What a real Instagram audit checks

An audit is a comparison, or it's nothing. "2.1% engagement" means one thing at 500 followers and the opposite at 50,000 — so every dimension on this card is graded against the published bands for the account's size: under 1,000 followers a healthy account typically runs 5–8% engagement, around 10,000 it's 3–6%, at 50,000 it's 2–4%, and big accounts run 1–3%. The engagement rate calculator documents the full bands this audit applies automatically.

Engagement health is the headline number: what share of the claimed audience responds to a typical post. Audience quality reads the shape of that engagement — how much is conversation rather than drive-by taps, and how much of the audience a median post actually reaches; together they show whether the follower count is backed by real people (the same signature our fake follower checker audits in depth). Posting rhythm measures cadence and recency, because distribution compounds with consistency and decays with silence. Format mix checks whether the account is using the formats Instagram currently pays reach for — reels above all.

What this audit deliberately doesn't grade: anything public data can't measure. No invented "reach score", no fake followers percentage with confident decimals, no followers-by-country panel scraped from nowhere. We've documented competitor audit tools showing template filler with your name on it; the fix for that isn't better filler, it's grading only what's real.

How to read your grades

A means the dimension is working — protect it and spend your effort elsewhere. B is healthy with visible headroom. C means the dimension is measurably below the band for your size and is costing reach now. D is the flag: this dimension is the bottleneck, and the action plan will put it first.

Read the grades together, not alone. Low engagement with healthy conversation depth usually means a reach problem — good content shown to too few people. Low engagement with hollow conversation (likes but near-zero comments) points at audience quality: ghost followers, giveaway residue, or a bought count somewhere in the account's history. Strong engagement on a weak rhythm means the account grows every time it posts and then stops — the cheapest fix on the whole card.

One structural truth behind most bad cards: the audience is either too small or not the right people. Content fixes raise what each post earns from the audience you have; the other lever is putting the account in front of the right new people consistently — that's the half a managed growth service does, and why we built this audit to show you which half you actually need.

After the audit: the order of operations

Fix rhythm first if it's flagged — consistency is fully in your control and every other number is measured per-post. Aim for a sustainable floor (3–4 posts a week beats a burst and a silence), and hold it for four weeks before re-judging anything else.

Then formats: if reels are a small share of your recent posts, move — reels remain the format Instagram distributes hardest to non-followers, and they're the fastest lever on reach that content alone can pull. If the blocker is production time, that's a solved problem: Virallized AI generates on-brand posts and carousels from your brand kit in seconds, and it's included with every growth plan.

Audience problems — hollow engagement, a count the response doesn't back — fix slowest, and only one way: real people from your niche arriving faster than the dead weight accumulates. That is exactly the job Virallized does: targeted outreach that puts your account in front of people already following pages like yours, with published growth ranges on the pricing page and a 7-day money-back guarantee. Re-run this audit monthly and watch the grades move — the recovery pattern is real, and we've watched it across thousands of client campaigns.

Common questions

Is this Instagram audit really free?

Yes — free, no login, no password, and the grades are computed from public data rather than gated behind an email. Virallized sells organic growth, and an honest audit is the clearest case for it: if the card shows an audience problem we can fix, the pricing page is one click away; if your card comes back clean, you've lost nothing and learned where you stand.

How is each grade calculated?

From the account's real recent public posts, benchmarked to its size band. Engagement health compares the live engagement rate to the published band for accounts that size (5–8% under 1k followers, 3–6% around 10k, 2–4% at 50k, 1–3% above that). Audience quality reads comment share and what a median post draws from the claimed audience. Rhythm measures posts per week and days since the last post. Format mix measures the share of recent posts that are reels or video.

Can I audit an account that isn't mine?

Yes — any public account: a competitor, an influencer you're vetting before a sponsorship, or an account you're thinking of buying. The audit only reads what's publicly visible, which is exactly the data a brand or sponsor would judge the account on.

Why does the audit say there isn't enough data?

The grades need at least a couple of recent public posts with visible engagement. Private accounts, brand-new accounts, and accounts that haven't posted publicly in a long time can't be graded honestly — so the card says that instead of printing a made-up grade. The profile numbers shown are still real and current.

What's a good overall grade?

A or B means the account is fundamentally healthy — growth comes from doing more of what already works, in front of more of the right people. C means one or two dimensions are actively costing reach and the action plan will name them. D usually traces to audience quality or a long posting gap, and both are recoverable — slowly for audience, quickly for rhythm.

How is this different from the growth checker?

Same honest data, different job. The growth checker is the full report — your numbers, format performance, benchmarks and a 12-month projection. The audit is the verdict: four grades, one overall mark, and a fix list in priority order. Run the audit to find out what's wrong; run the checker when you want everything measured.
