How much do Instagram followers cost? The real prices, and what a real follower costs

There are two questions inside this one. The first is what the shops charge for a thousand followers, which has a precise answer because they publish it. The second is what it costs to be followed by a thousand people, which is the one that matters and the one nobody prices honestly.

This page answers both, with prices read from the sellers' own pages on 19 September 2026 and with the arithmetic of every route to a real follower: ads, a manager, a growth service and your own time.

The short answer

At the US shops that sell them, 1,000 Instagram followers cost about $8.50 to $16, roughly a cent each, and $20 to $40 when they are sold as USA or country-targeted. A follower who is a real person costs more: roughly $0.10 to $0.66 on a managed service's published ranges.

We read the price pages of eight US storefronts on 19 September 2026. Packs of 1,000 ran from $8.49 to $15.95, a median of about $11. The same shops charge two to three times as much for followers labelled USA or targeted, and their own FAQs say those followers will probably not like or comment.

Ads have no price per follower at all. Neither the boost button nor Ads Manager has a followers goal, so the only honest figure is your own: total spend divided by the follows Meta reports for the campaign.

A managed growth service works out at roughly $0.10 to $0.66 per follower on published monthly ranges, and doing the same work yourself costs about fifteen minutes a day. The cheap number buys accounts. The expensive one buys people.

What bought followers cost in 2026

We read the public price pages of the storefronts that sell followers in the US on 19 September 2026. We quote the prices so you can check them. We do not recommend any of these shops, and none is linked.

The ordinary product: about $8.50 to $16 per 1,000. Soclikes lists 1,000 at $8.49, BuyCheapestFollowers at $9.99, Goread at $9.99 during a flash sale, SocialWick at $11.59, Buzzoid and Twicsy at $14.99 and Famoid at $15.95. That is about a cent per follower, and a pack of 100 costs $3.49 to $3.95 at the best-known names.

The same product with a flag on it: $20 to $40 per 1,000. Sold as USA, VIP or country-targeted, 1,000 followers cost $19.99 at Soclikes, $29.99 on BuyCheapestFollowers' Real USA page, $39.95 in Famoid's Prestige packs and $39.99 in Buzzoid's VIP tier, which its own FAQ places in North America. That is two to three times the same shop's ordinary price.

Bigger packs are cheaper per follower, never better. Buzzoid lists 20,000 at $204.99, about $10 per 1,000, and BuyCheapestFollowers sells packs of up to 500,000 at $3,899.99. A volume discount on accounts that do nothing is a discount on nothing.

Why the same 1,000 costs so differently

Follower shops do not make followers. They buy them wholesale from panels that resell bot accounts, recycled or hacked profiles and coin-exchange users, and they add a brand, a checkout and a margin.

That is why price does not track quality. Two shops can sell the same supply at prices several times apart, and the dearer one usually has the better website. The labels do the rest: premium, high quality, real, active, USA. The USA label alone doubles or triples the price at the same shop, and one seller that charges the same €9 for United States as for anywhere admits it cannot guarantee every follower is a real resident.

The guarantee tells you what the product is. Nearly every shop promises to replace followers who disappear within a set number of days. At the shops we read, the window runs from 30 days at Famoid and Goread to three months at Buzzoid and six at Twicsy, and BuyCheapestFollowers offers 30 days and 90 days in consecutive sentences. A real audience does not need a replacement policy.

The supply is being removed from the other end. Instagram clears fake and inactive accounts in sweeps. The one in May 2026 took 15 million followers off Instagram's own account and 4 million off Nike's, and every bought package is made of exactly the accounts those sweeps are looking for.

About the 'best sites' lists

Several of the 'best sites to buy Instagram followers' lists on newspaper websites are paid placements: two of the three we read are labelled Partner Content or Sponsored. All three ranked the same two sellers first, and on 19 September 2026 neither of those sellers had an Instagram follower page at all.

What the price does not include

The sticker price is the small part. The large part is what a padded count does to every post you publish afterwards.

Your reach is decided by your followers' reaction. Instagram shows each post to a slice of your followers first and reads what they do. Say 2,000 real followers leave about 100 likes and comments: a 5% engagement rate, which is healthy. Buy 8,000 more and the same post earns the same 100 interactions from an audience of 10,000. The rate is now 1%, and that is the number the ranking works from.

Brands check before they pay. A large count over a silent comment section is the first thing an audit flags, and our fake follower checker reads the same signature on any public account.

And it breaks Instagram's rules. The Terms of Use and Community Guidelines prohibit inauthentic activity, including artificially collecting followers. Buying them is not a crime in most countries, but the account carries the consequences, not the shop. Is it safe to buy followers covers what those are.

What a follower costs from Instagram ads

No official figure exists, because Instagram does not sell followers. The boost button offers three goals: profile visits, website visits and messages. Ads Manager's objectives are awareness, engagement, traffic, leads, app promotion and sales. Followers are on neither list.

You can measure it after the fact. From 7 July 2025 Meta began adding an Instagram follows column to Ads Manager reporting. Your cost per follower is the campaign's total spend divided by that column. It will be your number, for your profile and your audience, and it will move with every change to the ad.

What the money buys is attention. Gupta Media's tracker puts Meta's average cost per thousand impressions at $8.19 for 2025. How many of those thousand people tap through, and how many of the ones who do decide to follow, depends on the ad and on the profile they land on.

Pay from a browser. In most regions a boost paid inside the iPhone app carries a 30% Apple service fee, which boosting from instagram.com avoids. Instagram ads for followers and is boosting worth it have the detail.

Be wary of benchmarks

Anyone quoting a universal cost per follower from Instagram ads is guessing. Instagram publishes none, and follows are not something a campaign can be optimised for.

What a real follower costs, route by route

Your own time: free, and about fifteen minutes a day. Engaging with the followers of accounts like yours is the method every paid route is built on. It works, and it has to be done daily. How to get targeted followers walks through it.

A managed growth service: roughly $0.10 to $0.66 per follower. That is the arithmetic of our own published plans: $99 a month for a range of 150 to 500 followers at one end, $299 for 750 to 3,000 at the other. They are ranges, not promises. In a 150-account sample of client campaigns that had run at least 90 days, measured to 19 September 2026, the median account added 302 net followers a month and all 150 finished larger than they started.

A social media manager: priced per month, not per follower. WebFX's February 2026 figures put a manager at $500 to $5,000 a month. You are paying for content and publishing, and growth is a by-product nobody quotes. What a social media manager costs has the breakdown.

Ads: whatever your own campaign reports. See the section above. Ads are good at sending visitors to a profile for a dated offer, and the follows are a side effect.

Automation tools: $19 to $129 a month, and the wrong comparison. They are the cheapest monthly price in the market and the tier with the worst public records. What an Instagram growth service costs prices every tier from the providers' own pages.

Which one to pay for

If you need the number to look bigger by Friday, the packages at the top of this page do that, and you have read what comes with them.

If you need customers, brand deals or reach, you need followers who respond, and those come from being discovered by the right people. It is slower, it costs more per follower, and it is the only version still worth something in a year.

What we charge, on the record. Virallized plans run $99 to $299 a month, 25% less billed annually, with Virallized AI included for the content half and a 7-day money-back guarantee. You choose target accounts whose followers are the audience you want, and the dashboard shows which target produced each follower. The plans are public.

Compare like with like

A bought follower at a cent and a real one at thirty cents are not two prices for the same thing. One is a number. The other is a person who chose the account and may respond to the next post.

Common questions

How much do 1,000 Instagram followers cost?

About $8.50 to $16 at the US shops we read on 19 September 2026, roughly a cent each, and $20 to $40 when they are sold as USA or country-targeted. They are accounts, not people: Buzzoid's own FAQ answers the question of whether they will like or comment with “Probably not”.

How much do 10,000 Instagram followers cost?

Shops discount large packs, so 10,000 costs well under ten times the price of 1,000: Buzzoid lists 20,000 at $204.99, about $10 per 1,000. The discount does not change what you get. Ten thousand accounts that never react lower the engagement rate of every post, and that rate is what Instagram's ranking reads.

How much do 100k Instagram followers cost?

Several shops list packs that large, from Soclikes' 200,000 for $1,099.99 to Goread's 400,000 for $1,399, read on 19 September 2026. The bigger the pack, the more visible the result: a six-figure count over a few dozen likes per post is the first thing a brand's audit flags, and Instagram's sweeps remove exactly these accounts.

What is the cost per follower from Instagram ads?

There is no official figure. Neither the boost button nor Ads Manager has a followers goal, so nothing can be optimised for follows. Since 7 July 2025 Ads Manager can report Instagram follows for a campaign, and your cost per follower is total spend divided by that column.

What is the cheapest way to get real Instagram followers?

Your own time. Fifteen minutes a day engaging with the followers of accounts like yours is free and it works. Paying makes sense when you do not have the fifteen minutes: a managed growth service works out at roughly $0.10 to $0.66 per follower on published ranges.

How much does Virallized cost?

$99 to $299 a month, 25% less billed annually, each plan scoped to a published range of 150 to 3,000 followers a month, with Virallized AI included and a 7-day money-back guarantee.
