Social media marketing packages: what they include, what they cost, and what they leave out

A social media marketing package bundles some mix of strategy, content, posting, community management, ads and reporting for a monthly fee. Published 2026 prices put software at $79 to $400 a month, freelancers at $500 to $3,000 and agency packages at $2,000 to $10,000 or more, before ad spend. Most of that money pays for making and posting content; growing the audience is usually left to paid ads or to chance. Virallized is not a full package: it grows an Instagram account with real people in your niche, from $99 a month, with Virallized AI included for the content. We run it, so weigh our view; the table below lays out every option on the same facts.

Every provider's full record, ranked by its live Trustpilot score: the full ranking. What each tier really costs, and the billing traps: Instagram growth service cost.
Not on this shortlist: Outfame (2.4★ from 183 reviews), UpGrow (rating suspended by Trustpilot) and Upleap (2.9★ from 150 reviews), which other lists often recommend. Each sells followers alongside its growth plan, in its own words on its own site, so our ranking files it with the sellers rather than the growth services. The bundle
What a social media marketing package includes
Packages are sold in tiers, and the tiers mostly differ in volume: how many posts a month, how many platforms, how much community management and whether ads are run for you. A typical entry package covers one or two platforms with a set number of designed posts and a monthly report; the higher tiers add more platforms, video, a strategist and ad management.
What is almost always included: content creation, scheduling and posting, and reporting. What varies: replies to comments and messages, ad management (and whether ad spend is included or extra), photography and video, and strategy calls. Read the deliverables, not the tier name.
The prices
What packages cost in 2026
Sprout Social's 2026 guide to small business social media packages puts agency packages at $2,000 to $10,000 or more a month, freelancers at $500 to $3,000, and social media software at $79 to $400. LYFE Marketing, one of the agencies that publishes its prices, lists packages at $750, $1,350 and $1,550 a month, and says social media marketing costs "anywhere between $750-$7,000 a month or more".
Two costs sit outside most quotes. Ad spend is paid on top of any package that runs ads. And contract length matters as much as price: a three-month minimum at $2,000 is a $6,000 decision. For the cost of hiring a person instead, see how much a social media manager costs.
The gap
The part most packages leave out
Most packages are paid to make and post content, and they report on what the content did: views, reach and engagement. Very few are paid to grow the audience that sees it. Where growth is in the package, it usually comes as ads, which bring followers for as long as the budget runs.
That is why a business can pay for months of good posts and still see the same few hundred people respond. The content is reaching the audience the account already has. Growing that audience is a separate job, and it is the one an Instagram growth service does.
The checklist
How to read a package before you sign
Ask five things. How many posts a month, on which platforms, and who writes and designs them? Are replies to comments and messages included, and how fast? Is ad spend included, and who sets the budget? What is the minimum term and the notice to cancel? And what does the report count: views and reach, or followers gained, leads and sales?
Then ask what happens to your audience size. If the answer is only "ads", price the ad budget into the package. If there is no answer, the package will post to the audience you already have.
Our offer
Where Virallized fits
We run Virallized, so read this with that in mind. Virallized is not a full social media package: it does not post for you or run ads. It grows an Instagram account: you choose the accounts whose followers should become yours, and people on our team reach them every day with quality interactions from your own account, so the people who follow chose to.
Plans run from $99 to $299 a month with a published range, from 150 to 500 followers a month on Standard up to 750 to 3,000 on Managed, a personal account manager from Pro, and Virallized AI included for the content side: carousels, posts and reel scripts in your brand's voice. The first payment has a 7-day money-back guarantee. In the 200-account sample we publish (client accounts that had each run at least 90 days, to 23 October 2026, nothing excluded), the median account added 407 net followers a month and all 200 finished larger than they started.
Your call
How to choose, by budget
Under $500 a month: software plus your own time, and a growth service if Instagram matters most. Between $500 and $2,000: a freelancer or a lean package for the content, with growth handled separately. Above $2,000: an agency package can cover everything except, usually, audience growth without ads; ask how they grow followers before you sign.
Whatever you choose, start from where you are: the free Instagram audit grades any public account in about 30 seconds, and Instagram marketing services lays out what each kind of paid help does.
Common questions
What is a social media marketing package?
A monthly bundle of social media services, usually some mix of strategy, content creation, posting, community management, ads and reporting, sold in tiers by agencies and freelancers.
How much do social media marketing packages cost?
Sprout Social's 2026 guide puts agency packages at $2,000 to $10,000 or more a month, freelancers at $500 to $3,000 and software at $79 to $400. Some agencies publish entry packages from about $750 a month. Ad spend is extra.
What should a social media package include?
A set number of posts a month on named platforms, who creates them, whether replies to comments and messages are covered, whether ad spend is included, the minimum term, and a report that counts followers gained and leads, not only views.
Do social media packages include growing followers?
Usually only through paid ads, which bring followers while the budget runs. Most packages are paid to create and post content to the audience you already have.
