Virallized vs Upleap

Upleap is an automation-based Instagram growth tool offering targeted follow and engagement activity, with a free trial and tiered monthly plans.

Upleap is inexpensive and offers a long free trial, but it is automation software, it publishes no money-back guarantee, and it shares an identical price ladder and feature set with three other brands. Its public rating is 2.9★.

How Upleap works

Upleap is an Instagram growth tool built on targeted automation. You set filters for the kind of account you want to reach and the software engages on your behalf. It has been around for years, it is cheap, and it offers a free trial before any charge.

Its marketing leans on the phrases "no bots" and "no fake accounts", which are true in the sense that it is not selling you fake followers: the accounts it reaches are real people. The engagement reaching them, however, is automated rather than human, and that distinction is the one that matters for account risk.

The same product as three other brands

Upleap publishes the same price ladder as Nitreo, Kenji and Flock Social: $19, $34 and $64 monthly against $39, $69 and $119, billed at $229, $409 and $769 annually. The same feature names appear on all four (including "Filter targets by Gender" and "friends auto-adder"), as do the same per-day cost figures and the same misspelling of "annually".

Against Kicksta as a control, those four share eight of nine distinctive strings while Kicksta shares one. We are not claiming to know the ownership, and we would rather state the observation than an accusation. But if Upleap, Nitreo, Kenji and Flock Social are all on your shortlist, it is worth knowing they present publicly as the same product under four names.

Trial-only protection

Upleap offers a free trial, which is genuinely useful: you can see the product work before paying anything, and not every service allows that.

What we could not find is any money-back guarantee once billing starts. The trial is the protection. That is a meaningful difference from a refund window: a trial protects you before you have committed, a refund protects you after. Virallized offers a seven-day money-back guarantee that applies once you have paid, which is the point at which most people discover whether a service suits them.

What their reviews say

Upleap holds 2.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 150 reviews. That is the best rating of the four sibling brands (Nitreo is 2.2, Flock Social 2.1, Kenji 2.0), though still well below the managed services in this comparison.

A 2.9 tends to describe a service that works acceptably for some and disappoints others, which is roughly what you would expect from automation: results depend heavily on niche, targeting quality and how aggressively you run it.

Making the free trial count

Since the trial is the main protection Upleap offers, it is worth using it deliberately rather than letting it run. Set your targeting narrowly at first and watch what kind of accounts actually follow back: check whether they have real posts, whether their own follower counts look plausible, and whether any of them engage with your next few posts.

A follower who never interacts is worth less than nothing once engagement rate is taken into account. The trial is the one point at which you can assess that without having paid, so it repays a few minutes of actual inspection rather than just watching the number move.

What "no bots" means here

Upleap's marketing states no bots and no fake accounts. Read carefully, that is a claim about who you end up following you: real people rather than purchased fakes. It is not a claim about how they are reached.

The engagement itself is automated: software performing actions on your account under rules you configure. That is the part Instagram's terms restrict, and it is a separate question from whether the resulting followers are genuine humans. Both things can be true at once, and the distinction is worth holding onto when comparing services that use similar language for different mechanisms.

One line in Upleap's own Terms (read 23 September 2026) sits awkwardly beside the no-fake-accounts claim: subscribers can also buy "On-Demand Followers", described as "an immediate increase in follower count through active accounts" that is "not based on targeted engagement criteria". That is a follower purchase, and it is why our rankings now list Upleap with the companies that sell followers. Nitreo and Flock Social carry the identical clause.

Who should choose Upleap

If you want to test automated growth without paying first, Upleap's trial is a low-commitment way to do it, and the monthly price is among the lowest here.

Virallized is the better fit if you want human-led targeting rather than a script, the content produced alongside the growth, and a guarantee that still applies after you have handed over money.
